Southern California Fashion

I’m told fashion is different from coast to coast so let’s look at southern California fashion.

Hi Girls

It has been a busy month with activities and girls visiting the Southern. California area so what I’m going to talk about this month is the places I went and what I chose to wear in each venue.  November 8th, I had two sisters visiting Palm Springs from Portland Oregon, I met them at the Worldmark Resort they were staying at and checked in myself for three days.

I arrived wearing Soho Jeans from NY &Co. with a blue Metallic sweater from Banana republic and a pair of Boots by Fergie.  We met in the lounge chatted for a while then went to change for dinner at AlibiAzul in downtown Palm Springs.

My friends Marilyn and Gina Lee both selected classic and elegant styled outfits and looked stunning, I wore a Black Skirt from BeBe with an Ivanka top from Nordstrom’s rack.  My shoes were Aldo black 4 inch pumps with off black hosiery to complete the outfit.  My jewelry is from Brighton; I wore silver with the black and white outfit and a black watch by Guess.

First we stopped in at the Tropical for a drink with our sister Tippy she couldn’t go to dinner so we had a quick drink and then headed out to AlibiAzul and were met by another friend Bobbie, who was also in town for the evening.  The show and people at AlibiAzul could not have been nicer or more fun we had a great time and chatted with some of the performers. If you get to Palm Springs, it’s a very fun and welcoming place to have dinner and drinks.

After we left AlibiAzul we went to Melvyn’s which is a landmark in Palm Springs, it is where the “Rat Pack” Dean Martin , Frank Sinatra and friends used to hang out and has a very warm ambience of the old time piano bars. We had a few more drinks and danced the rest of the night away.

The next morning  we got together for a little shopping and coffee in downtown Palm Springs, we dressed casual, I wore a pair of Under Armor athletic capris with a long sleeve Nike top and Sketchers air cooled memory foam neon walking shoes.  We sat outside in the Courtyard adjacent to “Koffi” and had a great morning, then off to shop.

At Koffis and off shopping

Later that afternoon we got ready to go to dinner at a restaurant called “Shame on the Moon” and were joined by some friends who drove out from L.A.  I wore a Purple lace dress with a Small black jacket from AliExpress available through coupled with Silver Jewelry again from Brighton (I love that place) and Nine West classic pumps.  We had a wonderful dinner and I would recommend Shame on the Moon to anyone visiting Palm Springs.

Gina and I needed to stop at a Walgreens after leaving Shame on the Moon to pick up some items, Gina was having fun trying on hats and the gentleman working there graciously took this picture of us.  We then proceeded to Melvyn’s to again finish the night with a quiet drink at their piano bar.

Later in the week we got together again for more shopping this time at Cabazon Outlets in So. California.  Cabazon is a wonderful place to shop for almost anything girls and at outlet prices.  I recommend comfortable shoes, flats or Nikes are best because you will be doing some walking.

Donna and girls out walking

Before the girls went back to the Pacific Northwest they visited me at home and we had a great time chatting over coffee and cake…the best part of an evening is the chat between great friends.   We returned to Palm Springs only a week later to meet with other girls coming in from Arizona, we again went to Shame on the Moon for dinner and it was fabulous.

Here we are ready to leave for Palm Springs, I chose one of my “Weather Girl” dresses with a pair of Calvin Heels and silver jewelry.  Lynnea wore a Blue and white print dress from Kohl’s made by Chaps and a pair of Aldo deep blue snake print heels.

Our girlfriend Keri drove out from Palm Springs and stayed with us prior to her flight back to Pacific Northwest, that is her pictured with me in Capris and a Tee shirt top with bootie socks.

That same week my wife and I were invited to a Holiday Office Party hosted by my Aesthetic Dr. Sharen Jeffries.  We go for facials and microdermabrasion, we have known Dr. Jeffries for over 10 years, she is fabulous and if you ever consider going for facials or more her Salon and clinic offer a wide range of services.  The clinic is called ENT. Premiere cosmetics and Sage, located in Redlands Ca.  If you contact the office tell them, you know DonnaKelli.  The entire staff is wonderful, Professional and LGBT friendly.  First picture is Lynnea, DonnaKelli, Jason and Dr. Sharen Jeffries.  Next picture is Lynnea, Candace (My Aesthetician) and DonnaKelli.

I wore a dress from with 4 inch Calvin Klein pumps and silver and black jewelry, Lynnea wore a classic Black and White sleeveless dress with black Vince Camuto heels.

This column was late again because of all the busy travel and getting together with old friends, I hope the fashion and styles I choose for each occasion in some way helps you to better select outfits for day and evening.  Remember we are all different ages shapes and sizes but can all be wonderfully feminine and fit in everywhere.  You have a right to be who you are dress for the event of place you are going and remember to always be confident. Look in the mirror and know you are that woman.

I want to do a Style and Fashion column with a makeover for a girl who does not get out much and assist her in wardrobe for casual to evening.  Many CD’s and TG’s seem to only have dresses or skirts, these are the fun clothes and I love them, but remember you need casual clothes too if going somewhere for a few days.  I have been about doing Makeovers at a salon in California, it has been suggested and requested so my wife and I are considering the possibility.

My next column may be regarding CD’s and TG’s who are married and how the wives may cope with our lifestyle, some of it will be written directly by my wife.  She has requested to write about her feelings regarding TG issues, she is a very understanding advocate for TG rights. You’ll enjoy her she is my best friend and a wonderful blessing in my life.

This is going to conclude this month’s column and activities…there was more but just no room to fit it all in so I’ll save some for next time.

As always be safe out their girls…
