Fashion Blogging

fashion blogsFor years and years, when we wanted fashion advice, we’d turn to the many fashion magazines such as Vogue, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, In Style or one of the many other 60 plus notable magazines. However, in recent years thanks to the internet, that is all changing, and the magazines now have to share the spotlight with a rash of fashion bloggers across the world whose ideas are now really driving fashion choices. Fashion blogs have now replaced the many fashion magazines as the go to source for fashion advice. Many magazines now feature bloggers and many of the women’s fashion stores feature bloggers as part of their marketing effort, including our own transgender community..

As you might expect, there are thousands of bloggers out there, some with just a few subscribers and some with 1000s of subscribers By in large, they are personal blogs, just as we have  personal bloggers telling their stories of transition, but some have grown into large networks  with advice on every possible area of fashion. Some post every day and are replete with many articles and pictures describing their favorite styles and areas of fashion. Other bloggers are infrequent  with less than a hundred subscribers  and only occasional postings.

I’ve literally looked at thousands of blogs and the problem is that there simply isn’t enough time to follow more than a few and undoubtedly your personal choices would closely follow your age group for obvious reasons. However there is much to be learned from all the various groups.

I have subdivided the fashion blogosphere in the following manner and listed those I found to be particularily compelling for some reason. I’ll be adding others as time permits.
